Recreating De-industrialised Places 1880’s -Present – Glossop Derbyshire
Affective Digital Histories explores the hidden and untold stories of the people who lived and worked in former industrial buildings at two locations in the East Midlands:
Glossop, a mill town in North Derbyshire and Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. This website presents outputs from the Glossop Project Team. It has involved the 3D computer reconstruction of key mill buildings from Glossop in the 1880’s, the development of an iPad app mapping Glossop from 1880’s to the present, the recording of oral histories as well as the production of animation and video material along with creative writing.

The project has been funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and lead by the University of Leicester in collaboration with De Montfort University.
